A Word from the Author

In 30 plus years of practice, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of families. This experience has led to my conviction that resolving problems is only a piece of the work of successful therapy. Of equal importance is helping families and children to access strengths, increase their happiness, and build desired-lives. This requires that we look beyond what we don’t want and turn our attention to what we do. When we direct our attention to improving our relationships, habits, thoughts and behavior, we can improve our happiness and begin to create the lives we desire for ourselves and our children.
